THE WORKING OF THE VINEYARD
A particular structure
Due to a particular structure (vines in parcels), the 18 workers of the estate work on the same areas of land all the year round.

The quality of the grapes and the productivity is an on going worry, the work demands vast experience. The cut Guyot is not necessarily short. The sticks are even long, but the buds are cut off with a clipper allowing the vegetation to spread out guarantying a good and healthy aeration of the vine stock. In the spring the severe selection and control of the buds leaves a sufficient number of grapes to make the production over 40 hl/ha.

 



A soil of quality
Chemical fertilizer is not utilized; sometimes an organic addition allows the organic restructuring of certain soils. To preserve this structure, the soil is ploughed. Treatments against disease are associated with chemical and biological methods. The insecticides respect the fauna and at the moment 20 ha are using only, biological treatment.
